As we enter our
fourth year as alpaca breeders, we need to reflect briefly on what has
happened so quickly and seemingly, just over night. We have continued
to carefully select additional alpacas for our herd, which has now grown
to nearly twenty. We have sold our first alpacas and continue to seek
out the best herdsires to continually improve the overall quality of
our herd.
In the show ring
we have experienced success at national, local and regional shows. Our
little farm continues to evolve with more and more infrastructure being
added all the time. Most recently we completed a new barn and more fencing
with several additional pens available for our herd as well as our boarders.
Our goal continues
to be to produce high quality alpacas with superior fleece and conformation.
We are pleased to have been able to leverage off our relationships with
many of the best breeders on the West Coast. We have taken great care
in the selection of our foundation alpacas and plan to improve on these
genetics with each generation. In our breeding decisions, we will strive
to carefully match the best characteristics of both our females as well
as those of the chosen herdsire. Our genetic pool continues to broaden
and currently includes Pperuvian Victor and Victors Vic Junior,
Peruvian Hemingway, 4P Legacy, Peruvian Bueno, Snowmass Cchantanca,
El R Peruvian Luciano, PPPeruvian Accoyo Cahuide, PPPeruvian Accoyo
Grand Master, PPPeruvian El Moustachio, Peruvian Platinum, 6P Accoyo
Pinachi, 5P Peruvian Chaccu, Mr. Antonio and Snowbelt Hot Scot.
