Boarding/Agisting
At OVA we can provide both short or long term care for your alpacas at a very reasonable cost. We offer discounts starting at just six alpacas. For our agisting clients with huacaya's we also offer deeply discounted breeding rates to any of our wholly owned herdsires generally saving you hundreds of dollars in fees and transportation. Ask for a copy of our Fee Schedule for a complete breakdown of specific fees and charges.
Your alpacas will be introduced into our existing herd after a short, usually two week quarantine period. Once established in the general herd, your alpacas will receive daily routine care right along with our personal alpacas. We maintain strict schedules for vaccinations and worming and evaluate each alpaca monthly for weight, teeth, toenails and general condition. Crias are evaluated daily until they reach thirty pounds.
We have established relationships with four experienced camelid veterinarians plus a good working relationship with the staff at the Large Animal Teaching Hospital at UC Davis. When veterinary care is needed we make every effort to have you involved in the process.

Transportation
We can provide transportation for your alpacas throughout northern and central California at reasonable rates. We also generally have room for a few extra alpacas in our trailer when attending shows throughout California, Oregon, Washington and Nevada. Ask for a quote or inquire how we can assist you with your transportation needs.

We are happy to share our experience with you and assist you on a wide range of topics when getting started in the alpaca business. Most of these services are free of charge to existing clients otherwise we charge a reasonable fee for our time and transportation.
We have gained significant experience with breeding and genetics, how to establish breeding goals and appropriate herdsires to use to maximize the potential of your breeding program. We would be happy to discuss a sales, marketing or brokering program for your alpacas and can help you establish realistic pricing when it comes time to start your marketing and sales program. One of the most fun areas for us is helping you in setting up your ranch to be the most efficient for alpacas. There is a lot to consider in developing your property. We've made a few mistakes that we can share with you and maybe just help you avoid some of the same oversights that we in developing our ranch.
